Coming 2027…..

…..Our own herd of SimAngus to supply our future beef!

Currently we raise steers bought from another local farm. Our cows are raised on pasture 24/7 on Bahaia and Johnson grasses. Our pastures are professionally maintained year-round by a local with 50+ years of building and maintaining healthy pastures for grazing herds. It is still a work in progress to get all of our pastures’ health to our standards and to be able to provide rotational grazing for true regenerative farming practices. We “feed out” our steers for 90 days before processing, they are never pinned up in a feedlot-like environment or otherwise known as a CAFO. Read about the horrors of a CAFO system here, where the majority of your grocery store meats come from.

We strive to process our steers around the 12-18 months age range and strive for a 1,300 lb cow. The young age and smaller weight provide a more tender cut of meat.

They eat Tucker Milling’s 16% Sweet All Stock textured feed. Click here for more information.

They are provided Sweetlix Classic Cow-Calf Minerals for further nutrition and health. Click here for more information. Click here for the importance of minerals for cattle.

They are provided fresh clean water on a daily basis and their watering troughs are thoroughly cleaned out on a weekly basis. Click here to learn about the importance of good water quality for beef cattle.

Our cows are humanely raised in that they are treated like pets. They are brushed and loved on daily. Desirae checks them daily for injuries and tends to their care herself.

Please be patient with us as we are still building proper pastures and fences to grow our own genetics and utilize pasture rotation to continue serving delicious health to those who desire it. Twenty more acres of pasture being developed now!

Come visit our farm and you will see for yourself how much our cows love us back!
